About ICPS
Riphah Institute of Healthcare Improvement & Safety (RIHIS) has been organizing the region’s largest International Conference on Patient Safety (ICPS) annually for the last 6 years which draws key opinion leaders, domain experts, regulators, academia, and other stakeholders working in this space from all over the world. ICPS provides a platform to allow experts in Patient Safety to come together to create a momentum in the advancement of Healthcare Quality and Patient safety.
Historically, Riphah International University has been organizing the International Conference on Patient Safety on annual basis since 2016.
ICPS is a unique platform where all stakeholders of healthcare have been gathering to exchange ideas & experiences, share knowledge, strengthen collaborations, and network with key opinion leaders from all over the globe since 2016 as follows:
2016: 1st ICPS, Islamabad “Patient Safety – Right or Privilege”
2017: 2nd ICPS Karachi “Value Based Healthcare”
2018: 3rd ICPS Lahore “From Knowledge to Improvement”
2019: 4th ICPS, Islamabad “Speak Up for Patient Safety”
In 2020 and 2021 the COVID 19 pandemic put the conference gathering on hold and RIHIS focused its energies on multiple online forums to meet the need of the day.
2022: 5th ICPS, Karachi “Implementation Research in Healthcare Quality and Safety”
2023: 6th ICPS Lahore “Engaging Patients and Families to Co-design Safety”
2024: 7th ICPS Islamabad “Diagnostic Safety”
Objectives of the Conference are:
- To create awareness about patient safety, medical errors and healthcare quality in Pakistan and the region.
- To help in developing a patient-centric mindset.
- To build a capacity of professionals, involved in the process of delivering quality healthcare and managing patient safety in their institutions.
- To bring together the stakeholders in Pakistan on this important subject objectives
