Riphah Institute of Healthcare Improvement & Safety (RIHIS) has been organizing the region\u2019s largest International Conference on Patient Safety (ICPS) annually for the last 6 years which draws key opinion leaders, domain experts, regulators, academia, and other stakeholders working in this space from all over the world. ICPS provides a platform to allow experts in Patient Safety to come together to create a momentum in the advancement of Healthcare Quality and Patient safety.<\/p>

Historically, Riphah International University has been organizing the International Conference on Patient Safety on annual basis since 2016.<\/p>

ICPS is a unique platform where all stakeholders of healthcare have been gathering to exchange ideas & experiences, share knowledge, strengthen collaborations, and network with key opinion leaders from all over the globe since 2016 as follows:\u00a0<\/p>

2016: 1st ICPS, <\/strong>Islamabad \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 “Patient Safety \u2013 Right or Privilege”<\/strong><\/p>

2017: 2nd ICPS <\/strong>Karachi\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>“Value Based Healthcare”<\/strong><\/p>

2018: 3rd ICPS <\/strong>Lahore\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 “From Knowledge to Improvement”<\/strong><\/p>

2019: 4th<\/sup> ICPS, <\/strong>\u00a0Islamabad\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 “Speak Up for Patient Safety”<\/strong><\/p>

In 2020 and 2021 the COVID 19 pandemic put the conference gathering on hold and RIHIS focused its energies on multiple online forums to meet the need of the day.<\/p>

2022: 5th ICPS<\/strong>, Karachi\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 “Implementation Research in Healthcare Quality and Safety”<\/strong><\/p>

2023: 6th ICPS <\/strong>Lahore\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 “Engaging Patients and Families to Co-design Safety”<\/strong><\/p>

2024: 7th ICPS <\/strong>Islamabad\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>“Diagnostic Safety”<\/strong><\/p>

Objectives of the Conference are:<\/strong><\/p>

  • To create awareness about patient safety, medical errors and healthcare quality in Pakistan and the region.<\/li>
  • To help in developing a patient-centric mindset.<\/li>
  • To build a capacity of professionals, involved in the process of delivering quality healthcare and managing patient safety in their institutions.<\/li>
  • To bring together the stakeholders in Pakistan on this important subject objectives<\/li><\/ul>

    \u201cThe mission of this conference is to provide safe & quality health services to all patients in Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>
