Riphah International University has organizing the 1st International Conference on Patient Safety from May 07-08, 2016 at Pearl Continental Hotel Rawalpindi with the mission to provide safe & quality health services to all patients in Pakistan.  To initiate & support this journey of patient safety in Pakistan, we had invited the top leaders in patient safety from across the world and gathering relevant local stakeholders to share & learn from their relevant knowledge, expertise and experiences. The objectives of the conference were to; Help in developing a patient centric mindset Create awareness about patient safety, medical errors and healthcare quality in Pakistan and the region. Builded capacity of professionals, involved in the process of delivering quality healthcare and managing patient safety in their institutions. Brought together the stakeholders in Pakistan on this important subject”

He has held progressively responsible positions in the health sector with leadership, financial, monitoring and strategic guidance roles in international organizations, public sector and civil society organisations, over these years. He is currently the Director-General of Health in the Federal Ministry of Health Services Regulations and Coordination Islamabad, which is the senior most technical position in the public sector in health in the country.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam is the third vice chancellor of UHS. A graduate of Nishtar Medical College Multan, Prof Aslam’s area of specialization is physiology with special interest in reproductive endocrinology and high altitude physiology. He did his MPhil from Postgraduate Medical Institute Lahore in 1982 and later moved to the UK where he did PhD in Physiology from St.Thomas’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1987. He is also a fellow of Pakistan Academy of Medical Sciences and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan.

Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan is the Chief Operating Officer of the Punjab Healthcare Commission. He holds an MBBS degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University Of Manchester, UK. He stood 5th in the Central Superior Services Examination in a countrywide competition and was assigned to the District Management Group.
